revision and evaluation of all programmes, studies, reports and projects, expert supervision, verification, monitoring, direction of works and expertise;

development of ToRs, studies and design documentation in the filed of water
management for the following:
- - flood protection and river training works;
  - multi-purpose reservoirs and fisheries;
  - hydrological and soil improvement systems;
  - supply of drinking water to settlements;
  - supply of industrial water;
  - sewage systems;
  - drinking water and wastewater treatment;
  - inland navigation;
  - controlled exploitation of material from rivers;
  - disposal of urban and industrial wastewater and materials;

preparation of tender documents and providing consulting services;
design supervision during the construction of hydraulic structures;
keeping water management cadastre of general interest to the Republika Srpska;
other architectural engineering activities and technical advice;

The Institute has a license for development of technical documentation for facilities for which the building permit is issued by the Ministry of Spatial Planning ,Construction and Ecology – hydrotechnical phase and structural phase. Also, Zavod has license for official revision of technical documentation for facilities for which building permit is issued by Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology – hydrotechnical phase and revision of technical documentation for facilities for which building permit is issued by local government unit – structural phase.
