ACTIVITIES
Research and experimental development in technical and technological sciences, and in particular:
- scientific research and project design in water management;
- improvement of scientific research works in water management;
- development of water management master plans, studies and expertise;
- development of investment programmes and bidding documents;
- development of source protection plans and activities in environmental protection;
- preparation of hydrological and geodetic maps and basic data;
- measurement and control of water quality;
- determining the degree of water pollution expressed in population equivalent (PE);
- laboratory testing of wastewater and drinking water;
- establishing a central archive of water management documentation and information systems;
- keeping a unique record of the results of water management studies of general interest to the Republika Srpska;
- publishing activities in water management sciences;
- spatial planning;
- designing building and other structures;
- engineering;
- development of water management programmes, studies and project documentation for:
- flood protection and river engineering;
- multi-purpose reservoirs and fisheries;
- hydrological and soil improvement systems;
- supply of drinking water to settlements;
- supply of industrial water;
- sewage systems;
- drinking water and wastewater treatment;
- inland navigation;
- controlled exploitation of materials from rivers;
- disposal of urban and industrial wastewater and materials;
- preparation of tender documents and providing consulting services;
- design supervision during the construction of hydraulic structures;
- keeping water management cadastre of general interest to the Republika Srpska;
- revision and evaluation of all programmes, studies, reports and projects, expert supervision, verification, monitoring, direction of works and expertise;
- other architectural engineering activities and technical advice;
- technical testing and analyses.
The Institute has a license for drafting and revision of technical documents for: hydraulic works for facilities for which the building permit is issued by the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Civil Engineering; and construction works for which the building permit is issued by a local authority. The Institute has its own business premises in Bijeljina, with significant computer equipment, peripherals and software packages, so that the project documentation is developed with the latest technologies.
