Detailed Design of Irrigation System Construction in Semberija, “Bijeljina East” spatial area, BNI-5 Subsystem in Batkovic
Detailed design of Irrigation system construction, spatial area “Bijeljina East”, BNI-5 subsystem in Batkovic was developed in April 2020 by Zavod za vodoprivredu.
Development of irrigation in the area of Semberija was considered throughout 2018 Preliminary Design from Drina-Sava channel network. Based on multi-criteria analyses as the most appropriate for development of the first priority the BNZ-5 Subsystem in “Bijeljina West” was selected. Total gross area of 510.8 ha i.e. 434.2 ha net surface. For BNZ-5 subsystem detailed design was developed and construction works were finalized by the beginning of December 2019. Considering the fact that on wider area of Donje Crnjelovo and Batkovic population engage on intensive agricultural activities, and that according to multi-criteria analyses as one of the most appropriate for development was BNZ-5 in Donje Crnjelovo and Subsystem BNI-5 in Batkovic it was foreseen to develop Detailed Design and afterwards implementation of construction works on development of irrigation areas. Development of the system for irrigation BNI-5 in Batkovic in Semberija was logical continuation of the project BNZ-5, considering the fact that significant investments were implemented in object of common pump station and water intake during construction of subsystem BNZ-5.
Foreseen surfaces for irrigation over this system are mainly private property and partially state property, under liaison or concession. While designing the pipeline, objects on pipeline and pump station upgrading, necessary for irrigation, it was considered to use service roads established during land consolidation- road and channel network as much as possible in order to reduce occupation of the areas in private ownership as much as possible. For the purpose of rationalization of irrigation costs for this Subsystem, it was foreseen to use common object of the lateral water intake, suction tank of the pump station and pump stations for subsystems BNZ-5 and BNI-5.
Detailed design considers installation of hydro-mechanical equipment and electro installations, as well as supervision & control system in already constructed object of the pump station BNZ-5. For Subsystem BNI-5 installed hydro-mechanical equipment is of total power of 255 kW, electro supply source was already constructed transformer station 1.000 kVA that provides power supply for installed hydro-mechanical equipment for both Subsystems (BNZ-5 and BNI-5).
Water intake on Dasnica Stara channel provides water intake system, and PS with pipelines in objects and possibility of management, transition and distribution of water for irrigation using principle of the free water distribution and delivery, as might be requested by future system beneficiaries with application of modern irrigation modules.
In March 2020 upgrading of the basic detailed design was defined with increased irrigation surfaces of BNI-5 subsystems for c/a 120 ha. This extension was foreseen on north with c/a 120 ha toward Sava and c/a 20 ha toward Batkovic to the south.
Beside above mentioned there was also request from the Investor and PD “Semberija” for additional changes of pipeline plan and increase for 240 ha toward subsystem BNI-7, what makes total surface of 880 ha. This PD “Semberija” request for extension of the surfaces resulted with significant changes during system operation in Sector 1, since by those changes the subsystem BNI-7 was practically included. Limitations which resulted from this change has to be overcome by irrigation regimes in turns foreseen for the entire area managed by PD “Semberija” in order to adjust to resources foreseen for Sector 1. Having in mind available capacities of PS, development to additional areas is justified and is considered based on the additional requests compared to originally foreseen area.
While preparing irrigation system development for the area of BNI-5 subsystem, extension toward Batkovic was also considered and possibilities in accordance with spatial and planning bases, i.e. limitations in space defined by the Spatial Plan of the Bijeljina City.
Detailed design considered transport and distributive pipelines from the foreseen water intake on the Stara Dasnica channel and upgrading of hydro-mechanical equipment, electricity supply and supervising and control system for pump station PS BNI-5.
Designed transport and distributive pipelines are junction linear systems and represent primary and secondary network of pipelines which are support to development of distributive network of tertiary order as well as irrigation systems as well, which depend on size of the plots, culture which is grown and irrigation module. Transport and distribution pipelines should enable supply of adequate quantities of water, minimum operation pressure at the most distant and by position most unfavorable outflow spots-plots of 3.5 bars.
